America does not have a problem of absenteeism and low productivity.
America does not have a teenage pregnancy poblem.
America does not have a problem of broken homes and marriages.
America has an alcohol and drug problem.
--George Gallup, Jr.
An initial impression of the above quote may well be one of skepticism. However, research and experience reveal that many of our nations' most serious social problems are accompanied by abusive alcohol and drug consumption. When we set aside arguments for cause and effect, what we are left with is the certain knowledge that individuals, families and communities have begun to reverse many destructive trends by focusing their energies on eliminating drug and alcohol problems.
At CID, the staff maintains a professional and personal dedication to the study and practice of sound approaches to chemical dependency and related problems. Adolescent or adult assessment begins a process which leads to recommendations for individualized treatment planning.
The chemical dependency treatment and recovery community tends to be an open, cooperative network of organizations to which CID is proud to belong. The shared viewpoint of "we can do what I can't" promotes easy access to the most appropriate methods and levels of treatment for a given individual or family. CID participates in this by offering specialized individual, family and group counseling to those who pursue treatment for addiction.
